Details of Piers 10–11 Contract:
- Contract Name: Piers 10–11 Contract at Khor Al-Zubair Port
- Contract Amount: $54 million
- Contract Duration: 25 years, starting after a two-year qualification process from the contract signing date
Pier Specifications:
- Pier 11, with a length of 220 meters, is designated for importing gasoline and diesel.
- Pier 10 is divided into two main sections: Part A (150 meters) and Part B (190 meters), used for exporting black oil and naphtha.
- Structures are built on tubular piles with depths of 30–40 meters and can accommodate three tankers with a capacity of 50,000 tons each.
- Pier entrances and pathways are covered with concrete and asphalt layers 10 cm thick.
- Water depths reach up to 12 meters at the lowest tide level.
- Piers provide dedicated yard space for tank containers with a capacity exceeding 2,000 units.
- Equipped with advanced security systems, including surveillance cameras, control systems, and security barriers.
- Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) systems are implemented according to international standards, including fire and alarm systems.
Operational Contract Details:
- Piers 10–11 are part of Khor Al-Zubair Port, established in 1979, and are one of Iraq’s key ports.
- The port serves as a primary hub for importing and exporting petroleum products.
- The company collaborated with Iraqi and international firms to enhance production and improve operational services.
- The port consists of 13 specialized oil piers.
- The company obtained the contract for pier qualification and operation in partnership with Wahj Al-Thuraya Company.
- Loading and unloading systems were developed to meet the highest global standards.
- The rehabilitation work achieved an 86% completion rate for the main sections.
- The company obtained ISO 9001 and ISO 29001 international quality certifications, becoming one of the first Iraqi companies to achieve them.
